Laughter and Enlightenment - Try Not To Laugh

Donald Mars Bruno Trump - AGT -2017 by petercool217 gurus and yogis have always known the connection between laughter and enlightenment. I have read many blogs and books on the topic of laughter and enlightenment over the last few years and the one thing that is clear is, just the act of laughter will lead to enlightenment and non-attachment.

Familiarity is a key part of humor and laughter, and research shows people find jokes told by famous comedians to be funnier than the same joke told by someone they’re not familiar with.

Rats laugh when they’re tickled, and the more they play together, the more they laugh. Psychologist Jack Panksepp first observed laughing rats in the 1990s; he needed special equipment to hear it, as rats’ laughs are very high pitched.

this is a very good blog about the connection between laughter and enlightenment.

This cute cartoon I made explains the connection in a funny and simple way !!

Laughter Is Very Rare - Try Not To Laugh

Donald Mars Bruno Trump - AGT -2017 by petercool217 Humans are the only animals with the self awareness to see the dichotomy of our own existence and our mortality. This makes laughter very unique on our planet. On another topic only Humans and Otters eat more than one type of food in a sitting. Otters share there food. this leads to a variety of food being consumed ... just saying.

Professor Scott’s research has shown that your brain can tell the difference between real or staged laughter. When you hear staged, or deliberate, laughter, it prompts more activity in your brain’s anterior medial prefrontal cortex, which helps you understand other people’s emotions.
This suggests your brain automatically goes to work deciphering why someone is deliberately laughing.
The saying "laugh and the whole world laughs with you" is more than just an expression: laughter really is contagious. The sound of laughter triggers regions in the premotor cortical region of your brain, which is involved in moving your facial muscles to correspond with sound and prepare to join in.

I have seen a lot of very funny things on line but this video must be the craziest thing ever.....

Do You Know What Laughter Is? - Try Not To Laugh

on a base physical level, laughter occurs because your brain short circuits. As you read or listen to something your left brain does all the work. The second your Right brain sees a pattern that is contradictory yet a pattern. your brain sends the signal from the right to the left and back so fast your brain literally shorts out and that is laughter. Your brain literally can not figure out which of the two brains is wrong ... If any??

did you know for the last 12 000years mankind has never stopped laughing ... some where all the time somebody is laughing. In fact at any given second over 1 000 000 people are laughing all over the world.   There has been a new rage on youtube with the event of the "Try not to laugh" video challenge. this one is one of the best I have seen.

  1. Laughter is a physical reaction in humans and some other species of primate, consisting typically of rhythmical, often audible contractions of the diaphragm and other parts of the respiratory system. It is a response to certain external or internal stimuli.

People have known for a long time the benefit of laughter. we know it helps with blood circulation. it also has a profound effect on the breath. There are a host of feel good hormones that are produced as we laugh.
